Research and Planning: Analysis of film posters

The close up of the hand coming out of the eye, signifies the horror genre, also the red tinge to the eyeball represents danger or blood. The eye is wide open, which is what happens when you're shocked, this also shows the genre of the film.
The representation of the picture shows that the person who's eye it is, is scared because of the wide eye expression. The person is also probably female because of the makeup, which is typical of a horror film with the Male Gaze and the Last Girl theory.
The lighting is both high and low key due to shadowing. The bold font of 'eye' puts emphasis on the word, making it more relevant and intriguing.
As the poster is quite plain, the horror lies mainly with the picture, but also leaves it to your imagination. The audience is probably a young audience because of the picture of the young female in the poster. The narrative is unclear because nothing much is revealed in the poster, I think this was the intention. You can tell it's a poster through the inclusion of production company logos and the cast and crew information in steeltongs.
