Research and Planning: Possible Poster Sluglines
For our film poster, we need a slug-line to go with the film name, so here are some possible slug-lines to go with 'Disconnected':
- "The person you are calling is no longer available"
- "Don't bring up the past"
- "When you bring up the past, your future disappears"

Research and Planning: Non-Diagetic Music
At the start of this video the theme tune is slowed down and done on a piano, so we are going to use this idea for our film trailer.
Research and Planning: Make up
This is how I want my main characters makeup to look. My main character is going to be male so it will be slightly different to this picture but I will use this as a guide. I am going to practice my makeup over the weekend, and then I will post a picture
Research and Planning: Meeting Post
As our auditions are tomorrow for casting, we are finalising the script for auditionees to read from, we will post the outcome next week.
Research and Planning: Final Cut Font
I asked some of my friends which they liked out of the previous posts fonts, and 'Mouse Deco' was mine and my friends favourite, and I think this will look better on my magazine.
Research and Planning: Possible fonts.
These are some of the fonts off the website Defont.com that I liked. I need to decide which of these is my favourite, so I'm going to ask some of my friends there opinion on these fonts and then decide.

Research and Planning: Costume and prop list.
This is my costume and props list with some images for my magazine cover.
The actor on my magazine cover will be male, and because of the genre of the film I have decided he will look slightly rugged. He will have messy hair and slightly pale and grey makeup
He will be wearing jeans, a white shirt and a big black coat.

Research and Planning: Audience feedback
I sent an inbox to my friends to ask their opinion on a film name.
Here are some screen shots of the feedback.

Research and Planning: Film magazine analysis
The genre of this film is horror, I can tell this because of the blood on the girl, I can also tell this because of the shadows on the girls face.
The narrative to the film is unclear just through this picture, but what is clear is the fact that she has obviously come into some danger along the course of the film, whether it be her being the 'bad guy' or the 'damsil in distress'.
The high key lighting in the picture suggests that she is quite an innocent person, this is also shown through the white background. But the shadows under her eyes, nose and mouth make her look slightly more evil, along with her serious facial expressions.
The target audience for this magazine is aimed at younger people(16-35) in my opinion, and obviously people who enjoy watching horror films. The masthead is red which shows danger, and blood. It is also an unusual font because instead of it being overly scary, it is more retro and picselated.
This magazine has a banner along the top of it, along with a barcode, issue date and price. These are the features which show it is a real magazine.
The 3 colour rule applies in this picture, as the main red blue and back colours are used throughout.
The picture is a medium close up, this allows the reader to see the blood on her shirt and on her chest. There is a main cover line which goes with the picture and then other smaller cover lines to show other stories in the magazine. The font on this magazine is 'Impact' and is used on the full page.
Research and Planning: Film magazine analysis.
The genre of this magazine, is a film magazine, we know this because of the use of actors, film names and language on the front cover. Also, EMPIRE is a well known film magazine, which always has the same masthead so it is easy to recognise.
The genre of this film, is Fantasy/Thriller/Horror I know this because I know the film, but if you don't know the film this magazine makes the film look more like Horror than any other genre. I know this because of the low key lighting of the picture, the serious face on the character, the broken glasses and the use of blood.
The film poster has a close up of Harry, the main character. In this picture Harry looks vulnerable because of the high angle shot. He also has blood on his face showing that he has been in a fight of some sort, this shows that he is in danger. Also, his glasses are broken which makes him even more vulnerable as it eliminates one of the senses, sight.
The narrative of the film advertised in the magazine is clear because of the characters battered and bruised face. He also looks serious which explains the feel of the film.
The target audience of this magazine would be people who are obviously into watching films and going to the cinema. Id say the age range of the target audience for this magazine would be ages 16-35.
As I've already mentioned, the masthead stands out due to the bright colour and bold font. It is the same on every magazine and this is how people recognise it.
The issue number, barcode and price on the magazine are the things which make it stand out to being a magazine. Unusually, there is no banner along the top of the magazine in EMPIRE, but instead it has a positioning statement instead which says "the worlds biggest movie magazine", this is a way of selling the magazine and making it look better.
The 3 colour rule usually applies to most magazines, but EMPIRE has chosen to use 4 colours, this catches the readers eye more than it would if it was 3 colours.
There are a few cover lines on the magazine page but the main cover line is on the right, which is the one which matches the picture on the front cover.

Research and Planning: Meeting Post
As our auditions are tomorrow for casting, we are finalising the script for the people auditioning, we will post the script when it is finished.
We've had conformation off people that they will be attending our auditions, so we think it will be successful.
After we have our actors, we will be compiling a costume and props list.
